The Story
My name is David Tilston. I'm a former Royal Marine Commando and firefighter with a lifelong passion for movement, performance, and exploring human potential. That passion has taken me on a 20+ year journey of learning, coaching, and refining my approach through real-world experience across different environments, cultures, and challenges.
The Human 1st Method is the result of those two decades. It combines practical experience with a measured, sustainable approach to training and wellbeing. Everything I teach has been tested through lived experience, shaped by working with people from all walks of life, and built on respect for the process rather than quick fixes.
The decision to create the Human 1st Method came after working with thousands of people who were overwhelmed by modern life, disconnected from their bodies, or exhausted by the endless cycle of generic fitness advice and unsustainable programmes.
My mission is simple: strip away the noise and provide honest, effective coaching that helps people become stronger, more capable, and more resilient - physically and mentally. This isn't about hacks, trends, or chasing numbers. It's about mastering the fundamentals, moving with purpose, and building a body and mindset that can handle the demands of real life.
